Fees

Student fees cover only a fraction of the full cost of education at TCZ. Not only do students depend on the financial support of their sponsors, but the College also needs regular contributions for the support of faculty and staff, library acquisitions, and general day-to-day operations.

The tuition fee for full-time students is based on four courses or more per term. Students enrolled for three or fewer courses pay on a per-hour basis. Students enrolled for more than 18 hours (B.A. degree) or 16 hours (Adv. Dip.) are invoiced for the additional courses on a per hour basis.

Students are expected to provide for or arrange payment of their fees themselves or through their sponsors. Please note: It is the student’s responsibility to communicate with their sponsors with regard to the schedule of fees and to ensure timely payment of fees before the term begins.

Limited tuition assistance is available for students who are able to demonstrate genuine need. Applications for tuition assistance must be made in writing to the College and may include an interview to assess the level of need. Tuition assistance is dependent on the availability of funds and is not normally given in the first year.

Applicants are strongly urged to apply to their congregations and/or denominations for financial support, since it is assumed they will be the main beneficiaries of their training. Please note: the application must be accompanied by a letter confirming that the sponsor (whether an individual or a church/denomination) is prepared to provide financial support for the duration of the applicant’s training.

Payment Terms (Advanced Diploma and B.A. degree students)

Adjustments in tuition and accommodation fees are generally announced prior to the term break, for implementation at the beginning of the following academic term. It is the student's responsibility to communicate with their sponsors with regard to the amount and payment schedule of fees. Please note: Fees for tuition and campus accommodation are payable in full no later than the first Monday of each term, the day before lectures commence. Students will not be permitted to enter lectures or study in the library until full payment of tuition fees, accommodation fees (if living on campus), and any other outstanding debts to the College have been made.

The rate for Term Break accommodation is approximately one third of the preceding term’s real fee. Term Break accommodation fees are payable in full before the start of the break. Accommodation rates for international students include Term Break accommodation.

Auditing Fee

The fee for auditing B.A. courses is at 50% of the course rate for credit, and must be paid prior to the beginning of the course. There is no auditing option at B.A. Honours level.

Payment Terms (B.A. Honours students)

The B.A. Honours tuition rate is established for three consecutive terms of study and will remain unchanged for those three terms of study. The payment pattern is half the annual fee in the first term, a quarter of the annual fee in the second term, and a quarter of the annual fee in the third term.

If there is a fourth term (or more terms), then the B.A. Honours tuition fee for the fourth and subsequent terms will be the prevailing B.A. rate in effect for that term.

On-campus accommodation is not normally available to Honours students. However, if an Honours student is living on campus, the payment provisions for accommodation outlined above apply. Honours students who have not paid their tuition or accommodation fees as noted above may not meet with their supervisor or use the TCZ library, computer lab, or other College facility until the appropriate payment is made.
