Application Procedure

Step 1 – Beginning the application process. Complete the relevant application form  (Adv. Dip./B.A., B.A. Honours, Women’s Ministries Institute). If you would not like to fill the form online, you can download it by clicking here or contact the College for an application form. Forms are also available from TCZ by email attachment. Return the completed form, with all the attendant documentation (see Admission Requirements), with the non-refundable application fee, to:

Admission

Theological College of Zimbabwe

P.O. Box AC587 Ascot

Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

Applications for study at TCZ may be submitted at any time during the year, but Advanced Diploma and B.A. degree applications (including supporting documentation) must be received by the Admissions office for the January intake no later than 15 October, and for the September intake of no later than 15 June in order to provide time to schedule interviews. A non-refundable registration fee must accompany the application form. If applying online, please ensure that the registration fee is paid to TCZ.
(See Schedule of Fees, or contact the College for the current registration fee.) A penalty fee will be charged for late applications. All applications will be processed as soon as possible after all papers are received.

Applications for the Honours programme and the Women’s Ministries Institute Study Programme may be submitted at any time, and are acted upon throughout the academic year.
A non-refundable registration fee must accompany the Honours application form. (See Schedule of Fees, or contact the College for the current registration fee.)

Step 2 – Request for on-campus accommodation (Advanced Diploma and B.A. degree applicants only). Application for on-campus accommodation is made at the same time as application for enrolment, with several questions on the Application Form related to accommodations. Because housing space on campus currently is limited, there is no guarantee of on-campus accommodation. (See Student Life for more information.) Normally, on-campus accommodation is not offered to Honours students.

Step 3 – Scheduling the Interview. All applicants, regardless of their programme, are required to attend an assessment session and an interview with two faculty or staff members. This will normally be held in July for the September bridging term and in November for the January intake. Advanced Diploma and B.A. applicants should be accompanied by their pastor or a church representative who will meet with the College authorities on the same day as the interviews. (Where this would prove difficult for those applicants from outside Bulawayo, it is recommended that someone from the church in Bulawayo where the applicant intends to fellowship should attend the meeting.) Interviews for the Honours and Women’s Programmes will be held separately and applicants notified accordingly.

Step 4 – Requests for credit for study at other institutions. Persons who are applying for the Advanced Diploma or B.A. degree programme who have a recognized  Diploma in Theology from another institution or who have graduated from  institutions offering the same programmes with the same academic entrance requirements as TCZ, and who wish to apply for credit, should submit copies of the relevant course outlines or syllabi at the same time they mail their initial application form, together with samples of course work and assignments and/or examinations for assessment by TCZ faculty. This material will be discussed during the interview. (See Admission Requirements for more information.)
